What you can't do with Barclays bank

Payment restrictions

  • You can't send bulk international payments: Barclays only supports GBP payments to GBP accounts based in the UK.
  • Payee limit per bulk payment: Each bulk payment must include between 5 and 50 payees. You cannot create bulk payments for fewer than 5 or more than 50 payees.

Account limits

  • You can't send more than £100,000 in one day: Your daily limit covers immediate transfers, bill payments, future-dated payments, standing orders, and international payments set up that day (even if paid later). Direct Debits aren’t included in your daily limit. So if you need to process a payroll of £130,000, you'll need to do that over 2 days.
  • You can't send a payment over £50,000: The individual payment limit is set to £50,000.

An easier way for Barclays business customers to make bulk payments

Barclays' bulk payments service is only really suitable for small to medium businesses, as stated on their website. Due to limits on payment amount, number of payees, and where money can be sent. This makes it less suitable for businesses with a large number of employees or suppliers.

Solve this by using Barclays bank with Telleroo. Barclays is the most popular bank amongst businesses using Telleroo. Simply top-up your Telleroo account with funds from your Barclays account.
